Language with structure, closeness and a clear goal

At Phonem you learn German for work, everyday life and real conversations in Germany, not only for an abstract certificate.

Phonem Sprachschule was founded in 2023 because many learners need more than a generic course. They want to know how to take part in meetings at work, understand an appointment at the citizens' office, write an email to the nursery or respond clearly in the team when things suddenly move fast. That is exactly what we offer: fixed teachers, manageable groups and contacts who stay reachable.

Hannover is a lively city with a strong job market, universities and international companies. Many of our participants come from Europe, Asia, Africa or South America and plan their next step deliberately. Language first, then career, study or family life in the region. We support this path with courses from A1 to C1, clear level structure and teaching that stays close to real situations.

Aligned with CEFR

Our courses follow levels A1 to C1 of the Common European Framework. You see your progress, understand the next steps and know what a level realistically means at work, at the authorities or in everyday life.

Communication instead of rote memorization

We train speaking, understanding, reading and writing so you become more confident in everyday life. At work, in meetings, at authorities, at the doctor, at your children's school and in conversation with neighbours. Grammar is a tool, not an end in itself.

Modern classrooms

Bright rooms, smartboards and a calm atmosphere help you focus on German. Our rooms are set up so you take an active part and really speak in class.

Comfortable climate for learning

In the warm summer months air conditioning in our classrooms keeps a pleasant, cool learning climate. Even when Hannover has longer hot periods, classes stay focused and comfortable without stuffy rooms.

People behind the school

Two owners with different roles and a shared idea of quality, accessibility and a real connection to Hannover.

Phonem is run by owners Sabrina Alibasic and Dubravko Jusufovic. Sabrina is responsible for teaching and the pedagogical approach, Dubravko for organisation, systems and the technical basis of the school. That keeps the school personal and professionally set up at the same time.

Sabrina Alibasic

Sabrina Alibasic is owner of Phonem Sprachschule and a German teacher. She plans courses in a structured way, explains clearly and makes sure adults really speak in class. Her focus is German for work and everyday life, not dry theory without application.

Owner, organisation and IT

Dubravko Jusufovic

Dubravko Jusufovic is co-owner of Phonem Sprachschule and responsible for organisation, systems and digital processes at Phonem. He makes sure registration, communication and workflows run reliably. Learners benefit from a modernly organised school where questions do not get lost.

Our story

From the idea to today

The school started in Hannover in 2023. Our team knows the path to Germany from their own experience. We know what it is like to fill in forms, look for a flat, be reserved in the team at first and still stay politely clear. That is why we explain not only what is grammatically correct but what really helps in Hannover and in Germany in everyday life. When you visit us, you meet a school that takes your step seriously.
