The online C1 course at Phonem covers the full C1 level in twelve intensive weeks, divided into C1 Phase 1 (weeks 1–6) and C1 Phase 2 (weeks 7–12). C1 is the highest everyday level according to CEFR and is often an admission requirement for German universities, specialized professions, and academic further education.

In C1 Phase 1, you'll work on text comprehension and reading and writing skills: analyzing demanding factual and technical texts, sharpening arguments, and using complex grammatical structures such as extended participial attributes, genitive constructions, and indirect speech, precisely and confidently.

In C1 Phase 2, you'll develop stylistic confidence and linguistic nuance: writing presentations and academic statements, fully understanding lectures and technical discussions, and switching confidently between academic, formal, and colloquial registers. By the end, you'll express yourself precisely and spontaneously at C1 level.

C1 online at Phonem runs in a proven format: live via video, small group (4–8 people), with a teacher who gives feedback on style, argumentation, and linguistic precision. With at least 70% attendance in the live teaching units, you'll receive a Phonem certificate of attendance as a digital PDF with the C1 level according to CEFR. The teaching follows the international CEFR standard. You'll bring your German to a high level and lay a strong foundation for official exams.
